Example of a data backup policies and procedures

A good backup begins with a clear purpose such as policy - company data backup is in the user's responsibility, Department or asset owner which must define data and data recovery point objective (RTO) and retention time (RT) be backed up. The RPO and RTs must be updated regularly. All backup data/information should also externally stored on backup media such as tape as both locally and must be encrypted using appropriate encryption methods.
